About
Thimphu Tshechu is held annually over 3 days in September/October in the Tashichho Dzong courtyard. It draws the largest crowds of any Bhutanese festival — locals in their best Kira and Gho, plus tourists.
Cham dances cover all 12 classic themes. Unlike Paro Tsechu, Thimphu has no Thongdrel unveiling but features additional boen-cham (sorcerer dances) unique to this festival.
