Zhiwaling Heritage is a five-star 45-room hotel in Paro, operating since 2005 under license number 1014272. It was the first five-star property in Bhutan to be wholly Bhutanese-owned and is the only property in Bhutan certified as a National Geographic Unique Lodge. The architecture features hand-carved woodwork, stone work, hand-painted murals and Bhutanese motifs inspired by Dzong fortresses. Rooms are arranged across eight cottages named after the Eight Lucky Signs and include Swedish underfloor heating.
