Our guide brought us here and I'm glad. Real Bhutanese food, not tourist-watered-down. Ema datshi was properly spicy.

Book ahead in peak season. Beautiful farmhouse setting. The phaksha paa is excellent, red rice is a revelation.

Very authentic. If you don't do chili, ask them to tone down ema datshi. They'll accommodate.

Sat on floor cushions, had a long slow dinner with suja (butter tea) afterwards. Exactly the experience I wanted.

Nice place, reasonable prices for Thimphu. Service a bit slow when they were busy but food was great.
